A wretched hive of scum and villany for hire

Welcome to the 501st Bounty Hunters Guild Blog...your portal into the world of Star Wars Bounty Hunters (BH) costuming. The 501st is a world-wide organization whose mission is to share their passion for the Star Wars, promote the art of costumes and props, and to give back to their community through charitable work.If you love Star Wars Bounty Hunters then you've come to the right place. Check back often as we build and improve upon this site. Future improvements will include costume building tips, fan photo area, Tales from our Bounty Hunters (fan fiction), and the Contract Center used for playing "Target List", a new interactive social media experience.

BH Gear

About our costumes...Perhaps one of the most distinctive things about the 501st is our gear (costumes).  We are often asked about off the shelf products and their suitability for membership in the 501st.  While these costumes are great for halloween parties or as a novelty prop to stand in the corner of your favorite room, they often do not meet the standards of the 501st and are often a poor return on investment for the purposes of membership.

With some research and a few questions on forums like the 501st Bounty Hunters Guild, The Dented Helmet, or Replica Props Forum...you can be well on your way to creating a faithful representation of your favorite bounty hunter.

Additonally, while working your own costume you will learn many of the skills used by professional prop and costume artists and in turn you may even find yourslef creating an entire costume from scratch.

People join the 501st for numerous reasons.  If you are someone who is more interested in the trooping, chairty volunteering and/or love of Star Wars, no worries about the build.  Every garrrsion in the Legion has several folks who are more that willing and happy to assist you in your build.

Bottom line, if you want to join the 501st do your research...ask questions, pick a character and go!  Remember off the shelf is not a short cut but rather a dead end.
